Scotland County Parks and Recreation Department opened the soccer field at the James L. Morgan Recreation Complex with a special ceremony to recognize the donors and individual efforts that made this project possible. Guy McCook said this project came true because of the community’s support over the years.  This complex is now the home for Scotland Youth Soccer. The Scotland County Recreation Foundation hopes to finish the complex with a concession stand with restrooms, add lights around the complex and pave the parking areas. The Scotland County Recreation Foundation  has raised more than $570,000 for the additional needs for the complex.

Parks and Recreation Laying of Bricks Campaign

The Scotland County Recreation Foundation is starting a campaign to build a Children’s Plaza at the new James L. Morgan complex and fund the continued expansion of the facilities.  The campaign is called “A Walk in the Park”.  Jim Morgan, Campaign Chairman, is proud that he and his family are involved in this project and invites the community to join in this campaign for the children of Scotland County. It’s not only a great way to help support the community, but a memorable way to honor a family or loved one.

Scotland County is selling bricks ranging in price from $100 to $350. Each Brick purchased will be used to build the Children’s Plaza and will proudly display text, names and even company Logos, all dependent upon your level of donation.

So don’t miss out on this wonderful opportunity to support your community as well as commemorate an important person in your life. You can order a brick at Scotland Place, 1210 Turnpike road or on-line at www.bricksrus.com/order/walkinthepark./index.php

For more information see the Laying of the bricks link.
